Academy Award-winning actor Tim Robbins curates an eclectic series of events including Documentary Tuesdays, Film Wednesdays, Theater Thursdays, Fun Fridays, and Music Saturdays, featuring the likes of Tenacious D, Jackson Browne, Gore Vidal, Sarah Silverman, John Doe, Jill Sobule, Ben Gibbard, Tom Morello, Serj Tankian, Jenny Lewis, T.C. Boyle and more. All proceeds benefit The Gang’s community outreach programs.

William Kunstler: Disturbing the Universe
Emily and Sarah Kunstler, exploring their father, the late radical civil rights lawyer, reveal a man who risked public outrage and the safety of his family so that justice could serve all. Kunstler fought for civil rights with Martin Luther King Jr. and represented the famed “Chicago 8” activists; he’s quoted being “The most hated and most loved lawyer in America” –The New York Times. Followed by Q&A with filmmaker Emily Kunstler.

On the Front Line: Three Generations of Soldiers’ Voices
Gathered from interviews by LA actors/writers, this night features stories from California veterans from WWII through Iraq. Conversations were collected and merged into a play based on six California veterans from three generations. The performance calls attention to issues of self-identity, equal rights and long-lasting emotional and mental affects of war through the experiences of soldiers’ lives on the battlefield.

An evening of poetry that matters performed by Los Angeles’ award-winning teen poetry troupe, the Get Lit! Players. Some of their readings are of the classic variety — Ezra Pound; Langston Hughes, Edgar Allen Poe, Walt Whitman — but the bulk of their material consists of in-your-face original compositions, “like a soundtrack to a modern, messy LA” — LA Times.

    Hi Rolando! WTF Film Festival and events are great – there is usually room to arrive last minute – friendly – authorsa and filmmakers on board to discuss with public on stage and after. GREAT OPPORTUNITY for film crazed Angeleans!
